Mission Statement

Mulberry School for Girls is a vibrant, high achieving inner city learning community where each individual can flourish. It is a community which believes that education is a life-chance and that every pupil is by right entitled to the fullest and richest educational experience. Every individual is valued and respected equally, enjoying the highest possible standard of educational provision. We aim to enable all pupils to become confident, creative and critically aware young women with the capacity for leadership and the ability to excel. Our young women will make a positive contribution to our community and society, now and in their future lives.

 

 

Aims

 

Mulberry School for Girls aims to:

 

  1. Provide a stimulating learning and teaching environment in which every pupil enjoys her education, feels safe and secure and is able to fulfil her full potential

 

  1. Promote high standards of achievement and academic attainment for all, enabling every pupil to leave Mulberry School academically well-qualified, with a breadth of experience that has allowed her also to enrich her other talents and aptitudes 

 

  1. Create an inclusive ethos which meets the educational and social needs of every pupil equally, regardless of ability, aptitude, ethnicity or disability, within supportive physical and emotional surroundings

 

  1. Provide equality of access to a challenging, broad and balanced curriculum from Years 7 – 13 with an extensive range of academic and vocational pathways and a wide programme of extra-curricular learning experiences, including arts and international school activities

 

  1. Develop the capacity of pupils to be confident, creative and critically aware young women with the ability to lead in and contribute to a diverse range of fields including work, political and social citizenship, the community and family life

 

  1. Support the development of pupils as independent, life-long learners with the ability to meet with confidence the challenges of a diverse, rapidly changing, global society and world of work

 

  1. Develop positive links parents / carers and our wider community through extending and strengthening partnership and offering the school’s resources to enhance local provision for families throughout the year

 

  1. Invest in the professional development of staff, enabling them to enjoy being part of the school community and to fulfil their roles effectively, building a learning community for all

 

In essence, Mulberry School for Girls seeks to provide an educational experience which promotes confidence, creativity, leadership and learning for all its young women. It also seeks to contribute to its wider community.
