LEARNING STYLES

Human beings are always learning about things: art, cars, fashion, people, sports, other planets, well everything really. We are even learning more about how we actually learn!

Many education and psychology experts believe we have a way of learning that we like best - our preferred learning style. This doesn't mean that we learn in only one way, just that there is one that seems to be the main one. In a very simple sense,

  • VISUAL LEARNERS learn best by looking at or visualising things (and people)
  • AUDITORY LEARNERS prefer learning through hearing and/or talking about things
  • KINAESTHETIC or TACTILE LEARNERS learn best by doing or making things

Our Learning Styles quiz is meant to help you get an idea of what type of learner you may be. We will also give you some basic advice about how you could use this knowledge to help yourself become a better learner.

    POINTS TO REMEMBER

  1. THIS IS NOT A TEST! There is no pass or fail.
  2. YOU CAN DO IT MORE THAN ONCE. As you get older your learning style will probably change so you can do this quiz more than once.
  3. DO IT AGAIN. Learning Styles are still under discussion by education experts and psychologists so our Learning Style Quiz will be updated to try and reflect the latest views. So keep an eye on the version number.
  4. IT'S A TALKING POINT. Although we make no claims about how valid or accurate our quiz is, we think it is a good idea to make pupils aware of their possible preferred learning style through our quiz.
  5. TRY TO ANSWER EACH QUESTION AS HONESTLY AS YOU CAN. Remember there are no time limits.

Sorry only members of this school may participate in our Learning Styles Quiz
